Domestic students:

• be at least 18 years of age by the date you intend to complete the course – evidenced by an official birth certificate or passport
• have an Aviation Reference Number (ARN)
• be able to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
• be able to hold a CASA Class 1 Medical Certificate
• undertake the online Pilot Aptitude Assessment Test (PAT)
• have the academic ability to undertake the course, evidenced by ONE OF the following:
  • a Year 12 / senior-secondary school certificate that verifies your attainment of a senior-secondary qualification, and a transcript of your subject results (note: your results must confirm your literacy / English and numeracy/maths abilities to at least the minimum levels required for the attainment of the senior-secondary qualification in your state/territory) OR
  • an Australian Qualifications Framework Certificate IV or higher qualification (where the language of instruction is English) – evidenced by a Testamur (certificate or diploma) and a Record of Results OR
  • you are prepared to demonstrate your competence in both reading and numeracy through an approved Language, Literacy and Numeracy test which we provide for you;

AVI50222 Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane) Training Program is a VSL approved course and eligible students may defer tuition fees for all training modules under the VET Student Loans, except for AVIY0072 Operate a multi-engine conducted within Multi Engine Class Rating. Tuition fees for ME cannot be deferred under the VET Student Loans scheme under this program. Please note that the VET Student Loans are currently not available.

*You must complete all of the 28 core units, the AVISS00069 Multi-Engine Aeroplane Pilot Skill Set and the elective unit to complete this course. There is no work placement for this program.

On successful completion of the full course, students will attain:

• an AVI50222 Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane) – a nationally recognised qualification issued by CAE Melbourne Flight Training as a Registered Training Organisation  (CRICOS Provider No.: 04415M, RTO Code: 46506); and
• a Private Pilot Licence (PPLA) issued by CASA; and
• a Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) issued by CASA; and
• a Multi-Engine Class Rating (MEA).

The AVI50222 Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane) course fee is: $101,437.00.

The following items are not included in the course fee and will incur additional charges:

• Additional, repeat, or remedial flight lessons
• ASPEQ CASA theory exams
• Repeat flight tests or ratings
• Airport landing fees not specified in the syllabus
• External fees payable to third parties, including but not limited to:
  • Books and maps
  • Airservices and CASA publications
  • Navigation equipment
  • Uniforms and headsets
  • Any other equipment required for planning and conducting a flight

Please note that VET Student Loans are not available for this program. All courses are privately funded.

1. CASA licence fees are payable directly to CASA at the time of application, please note these fees are not included in the total amount payable to CAE.

Participants will be provided with course notes and student ID but will be required to purchase other essential items from external suppliers including, textbooks, publications, maps and charts, headsets and other equipment required to plan and prepare for a flight. Students will be required to obtain an ASIC and a CASA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
3. Additional fees and costs are applicable to the flying training that form part of this course. You should take these flying training fees into account when considering this course.
